Texas Department of Insurance Approval Qualification

The Keystone Structural and Impact Performance Certification Program is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and offers fenestration product manufacturers a third party verified, nationally-recognized method for demonstrating window, door, and skylight design pressure and resistance to flying debris resulting from hurricanes, as required for Texas Department of Insurance Approvals.

TDI Photo TDI Changes Test Report Expiration Requirements in recent years, fenestration certifications agencies have developed criteria to allow product certification beyond the "traditional" 4 year retest cycle. Until now, the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) continued to require products to be qualified by certification based on testing conducted less than 4 years from the application date.

TDI revised their submittal requirements on 4/04/2013 to "allow for a window, door, or skylight product to be listed with the TDI that has been certified by an inspection agency beyond the initial four (4) year certification cycle." This revision also allows test reports to be utilized by the qualifying certification agency for a maximum of 10 years.
