Fenestration Certification Policies Change Notice
Keystone Certifications has revised its Fenestration Certification Program Policies (POL B1-01), Revision 29. Acknowledgement of these changes is required from all licensees. The updated policy is available for download through the customer portal at portal.keystonecerts.com .
Key Policy Revisions
Laboratory Recognition (Section 4.3)
Modified how laboratories are recognized, establishing new criteria for recognition and optional listing on the Keystone Recognized Lab List.
Certification Validity Period (Sections 4.6.3 & 4.17.2.1)
Revised validity period for Thermal certification from four (4) to five (5) years.
Outsourcing Requirements (Section 4.4)
Added guidelines for outsourcing evaluation and inspection activities in accordance with ISO/IEC standards 17065 and 17020.
Documentation Submission (Section 4.5)
Enhanced requirements for submitting product specifications, engineering documents, and certification applications to Keystone.
Inspection Reports (Section 4.12)
Removed the requirement for inspector signatures on Inspection Reports while incorporating ISO/IEC 17020 and 17065 standards.
Appeal Process (Section 4.18.6)
Added language that SCC and ANAB are the final level of appeal in disputes if a Keystone-made decision is appealed.
Additional Changes
- Updated Canadian thermal performance label options
- Revised certification marks and service marks
- Clarified function check and calibration requirements
- Added referenced standards applicable to Keystone certifications
